HOOK ME UP !

Assalamualaikum.

Today we have learned about how to write introduction for paragraph . i know you think that it is just an introduction, why we need to focusing on it . BUT , it is important to grab the readers' attention ^^

First , you must have HOOK . what is hook ?

is that the hook in the fishing rod ?-,-

hook is designed to grab attention immediately and give some indication about the essay’s topic

there are 7 types of hook which is..

1. Personal examples

2. Quotations

3. Facts or statistics

4. Rhetorical questions

5. Current events

6. Contrast to the thesis statement

7. Definition 

Second, you need a transition .

It is to moves the reader from the hook to the driving force of the essay.

Third , a thesis statement is needed . it is to makes the contract with the reader about what will be discussed without a transparent announcement.

so here is the examples a complete introduction .

He seems to be saying that we are the ones to control our lives. We can be miserable when things are going well, just as we can be happy when things are going wrong. With this thought in mind, we can control the way we face life through our attitude, our determination, and our ability.

by using quotations as the hook ,  the introduction can be more attracting right ^^
